Some details about some of our more popular product lines:
Irish and Celtic Jewelry and Celtic Wedding Rings :
All our Celtic Jewelry and Celtic Wedding Rings are hand crafted by some of the finest jewelry craftsmen in Ireland. Each piece of our Celtic Jewelry is finely produced, inspected and hallmarked in Dublin. Your satisfaction is assured. The distinctive style of our Celtic Jewelry is derived from jewelry created by the craftsmanship of the Celts, who settled in Ireland more than 1000 years ago, is rivaled only by jewelry of the ancient Egyptians. Their appreciation of nature and understanding of man can be seen in their many works. The characteristic inter-lacing knotwork found on many jewelry pieces, which appears as carvings on the stones at Newgrange, symbolizes eternity and continuity. The outward moving spirals are symbolic of the circles of the sun. Celtic styled jewelry has stood the test of time with regards to fashion and jewelry trends. The intricately designed, strikingly unique Celtic wedding ring has become a wonderful testimonial of love and eternity for the newly betrothed. The Claddagh ring (as well as Claddagh styled jewelry) is equally suited to the traditions of love and romance.
Irish Wool Aran Sweaters and Cardigans :
The Irish wool Aran "Fisherman's" sweater takes its name from the rugged and isolated Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland. The intricate designs and patterns used in the Aran Sweater have their origins in the antiquity of ancient Ireland. Originally, whilst their womenfolk spun the wool from natural fleece, the Irish fishermen knitted the Aran sweater using goose quills for needles. They created patterns of great beauty, simple, as befitted those who lived so close to nature, but symbolic and dignified. Study the stitches in any Aran sweater and you'll find they are an allegory to a way of life with each stitch being steeped in symbolism: they are an Irish heritage. Our Irish sweaters are handloomed and imported specifically from sweater manufacturers in Ireland. The Aran sweaters in our catalog are loomed from regional Irish wool and is locally dyed to rigid specifications.
Galway Irish Crystal :
The Galway Irish Crystal we carry has long been one of the world's best known and loved names in traditionally crafted Irish lead crystal. The Master Craftsmen of our Irish Crystal are continuously inspired by the sheer beauty of the surrounding countryside - Connemara, Galway Bay and Lough Corrib - and influenced by the wealth of history and folklore of the Galway region, the famous City of the Tribes. The Galway Lead Crystal in our catalog has all the traditional qualities and value derived from genuine Irish Lead Crystal, without the inflated costs of more advertised, name oriented brands.
Mullingar Irish Pewter :
Our Mullingar Irish and Celtic Pewter draws on the early history of pewter in Ireland dating back at least 800 years. The pewter of this era, had (unknowingly dangerous) lead content, yet was used to produce the first utensils for domestic use, consisting mainly of tankards, plates and candle sticks. Around the 12th century, pewter was only for the wealthy, where it was to be found on the tables of castle halls and in the houses of rich merchants and churchmen. Later its use spread into taverns and cottages. And was later used in decorative (costume) jewelry. Today's pewter no longer has lead. But with use of other, non-toxic metals, it retains all the authenticity and luster of the Irish pewter of yesteryear.
Irish Perfumes :
Our very unique Irish Perfumes are derived from the very essence of Irish life. Originating in both Counties Wiklow and Clare the Irish perfumes we carry include Inis, Innisfree, Iluan, and Frond. For men we carry the Man-of-Aran cologne. These Irish perfumes are both rare and difficult to find. The Inis perfume has become quite sought after and taken on a mystic of its own. We are pleased to be able to offer them to you.
